Reporting into the Director of Business Insights, the candidate will be responsible for working to surface insights and data driven assessments/recommendations from our data. Aim being ultimately to support and facilitate faster evidence-based decisions across the business. These will be typically on medium to long term projects, ultimately providing regular analysis to teams combined with higher frequency access to key metrics through dashboards/automated reports. Our goal is to build metrics which not only scale but underpin the objectives and success of these teams in the business. Collaboration across engineering/product, programme management and finance will be core to this role.

In this role you will be supporting the Director in the management/delivery of analysis, evaluation, and the creation of reporting inc. dashboard development. You will work to define prioritisation of projects across the business, where you will be expected to evaluate the necessary scope and build out project plans and ultimate delivery. This will include evaluating any additional requirements for delivery where data may not be readily available. For example, exploring gaps in process and/or data collection that would prevent the delivery of measurement and insight in various areas of the business.

The role is at its core technical, so a strong demonstrable experience in using SQL/Python and BI tools for dashboarding is mandatory. You will need strong communication, project management and the ability to present analysis and recommendations effectively since you will be working across multiple stakeholders/functions. To be successful you will need to be more than an analyst, you will need to be able to understand the business and its drivers – what is the impact of the decisions that are made based on your analysis will be a common question? Ambiguity is undesirable in this role, critical and precision of thinking is key.


  • Support the development, and maintenance of core existing management reporting – tracking key business performance metrics for the GSMT/EMT team
  • Support the design, development, and maintenance of new dashboards for specific functions – enabling them access to measure and track key metrics that drive performance.
  • Scope high impact business problems which data can help to resolve, collecting requirements and providing analysis in collaboration with stakeholders with recommended actions to take.
  • Working with the Director, conduct deep analysis into core business problems, researching and formulating actionable recommendations that can be presented to senior leadership.
  • Conduct quarterly requirement gathering with function leads to refine regular deliverable
  • analysis and insight, that will drive more effective metric definition and reporting which enables them to track against agreed goals.
  • Partner to development of optimised/automated solutions to enable faster/regular reporting and visualisations.


  • A good degree (2:1 or higher) in Maths, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills: the candidate needs to be able to present insights and
  • reports to internal stakeholders.
  • Proven commercial experience with statistical analysis.
  • Confident presentation of data driven analysis and being able to influence decisions as an outcome.
  • Demonstrable use of intermediate SQL or programming experience
  • Demonstrable experience of BI tools such as Tableau, QlikView, etc.
  • Experience in advanced report building to improve team efficiencies and insight.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Good teamwork skills

Non-essential but preferred skills:

  • Demonstrable experience to high level programming languages such as Python, Matlab or R for data modelling.
  • Exposure/working knowledge of basic project management principles.
