OVERVIEW
At Captify, data is at the heart of what we do. As the Data Protection Officer, you will be responsible for our privacy compliance program. Based at our London headquarters, but with a global scope, you will collaborate with internal teams to ensure adherence to the latest data protection laws and regulations.
Success in this role requires a solid background in data privacy, particularly within digital products and emerging technologies
ABOUT YOU
You are a dedicated and detail-oriented professional with a passion for data protection and privacy. Your ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and implement effective data protection strategies sets you apart. You thrive in dynamic environments and are adept at managing multiple priorities simultaneously. You have excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively convey data protection principles and requirements to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders, particularly to non-technical stakeholders!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
What you’ll be doing:
Responsible for owning our privacy compliance programme, the continuing development of a privacy governance strategy and compliance framework, and policies and procedures for Captify globally
Assess and review new products and features from a privacy perspective, including working with the product team to create robust DPIAs and LIAs
Manage and update internal privacy and data protection policies
Provide sales, partnerships, product, engineering, analytics, marketing, and other business teams with advice on data protection laws and regulations
Responding to RFIs and RFPs that Captify receives from external partners
Owning the RFI process that we undertake to audit external partners from a privacy perspective
Oversees the management of data rights requests in order to ensure timely response and responsible data handling
Advise on international data transfers (including the impact of Schrems II and Brexit)
Devise and provide data protection training and awareness programs across the business
Collaborate with the information security team, advising on organisational and technical measures required to safeguard data, incident response policies and processes, addressing suspected or actual data privacy and security incidents and advising on the appropriate containment, investigation and remediation of any breaches, notification and regulatory reporting requirements, and communications
Develops, implements, and oversees control processes and systems to prevent violations of applicable certifications (such as TAG Compliance), and participates in various working groups representing Captify’s interests
Coordinate third-party audits, serving as the liaison between external auditors and the business teams required to support compliance (including TAG audits)
Be seen as a critical resource to the operations and exec mgmt. teams in providing timely information around data compliance risk exposure and industry trends (including assisting with board reporting of privacy risk exposure)
Monitor and respond to industry and regulatory developments in data protection and information security law
REQUIREMENTS:
What you need to be successful:
Minimum of 4 years' privacy experience in a global team
Experience advising clients on privacy risk assessment and mitigation across digital products and new technology
Passion for and understanding of technology
Experience working within a global team
Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to get the job done
Able to communicate effectively and credibly
Ability to assess legal, practical and business risks in a fast-paced environment and provide sound advice under tight deadlines
Prior experience working with digital technology companies is required. Experience of working in online advertising and content industries is preferred

Experienced in producing and implementing data privacy and compliance governance structures in a global organisation
