OVERVIEW
At Captify, we partner with the world’s biggest brands to unlock the power of search intelligence. We're looking for a dynamic analyst who sits at the intersection of data science, creative strategy, and client consultation. This is not a dashboard-reporting or pricing analysis role. This is a unique opportunity to directly query one of the world's most powerful datasets, unearth compelling narratives about consumer behaviour, and translate those findings into actionable marketing strategies for our clients.
You will be a data detective and a strategic storyteller, using your technical skills in SQL and Python to go beyond the 'what' and explain the 'why'. If you are driven by a desire to turn raw data into strategic intelligence and impactful recommendations, we want to hear from you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deep Data Interrogation: Go beyond surface-level analysis. You will directly query and manipulate our vast, unique search intelligence dataset using SQL and Python to uncover non-obvious trends, patterns, and audience behaviours.
Craft Compelling Data Narratives: Translate your complex analytical findings into clear, persuasive stories and actionable strategic recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your output will directly influence client marketing strategy.
Trusted Advisor: Support our commercial team and client stakeholders to help develop a deep understanding of their brands, challenges, and objectives, acting as a trusted advisor, using data to answer pressing business questions.
End-to-End Project Delivery: Support project lifecycles from hypothesis generation and data extraction to final insight delivery, and presentation.
Innovate and Collaborate: Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales) to help design and prototype new tools, techniques, and data-driven products that keep Captify at the cutting edge.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL (Essential Skills & Experience)
- Technical Proficiency:
SQL: Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and aggregation.
Python: Hands-on experience using Python for data analysis, visualisation, and automation.
AI: A conceptual understanding of, and ability to use, AI and LLMs in analytical workstreams.
Data Storytelling: A creative mindset with the ability to translate complex data into a clear, compelling narrative and actionable business recommendations. You can build a presentation that shows a story - not just a list of charts.
Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Strong conceptual problem-solving skills with an innate curiosity for consumer behaviour and the 'why' behind the data.
Relevant Experience:
- 1-2 years of professional experience in an analytics, data science, or strategic insights role is desirable, preferably within advertising, media, consulting, or a related tech field; and/or
- Relevant academic experience through a degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science) or a social science field with a strong quantitative component (e.g., Psychology, Sociology).
- Communication Excellence: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present your findings to a range of audiences.
WHAT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE (Desirable Skills)
Familiarity with statistical methods (e.g., clustering, regression, significance testing) and their practical application.
Experience with Databricks, and coding notebook environments.
Prior experience in a client-facing, agency, or consultative environment.
An understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem (programmatic, measurement, attribution).
